Annual Events & Activities

The Association organizes a number of interesting events and activities for its Members each year. An important fixture on the Association's calendar is the Annual Dinner which is attended by a variety of racing personalities from the world of horseracing including owners, trainers, jockeys, stewards and officials of the Hong Kong Jockey Club. The highlights of this event are the presentation of the "HKROA Award", which is given to owner members of the horses adjudged to be the most consistent horses of the previous season, as well as the awards of Best Privately Purchased Griffin ("PPG") and Best Privately Purchased Horse ("PP") respectively to members' horses which were imported to Hong Kong in the previous season and had outstanding performance in their first season.

Since 1998, the Association has established its own trophy called the "HKROA Trophy" which is presented to the winning owner of a race agreed between the Association and the Hong Kong Jockey Club on the last raceday of each season.

Not all the activities of the Association are social or recreational in nature. Educational seminars are also organized by the Association which are aimed at providing members with a deeper understanding of the many aspects of racing as well as owning a racehorse.
